Group Therapy

Group therapy

For many, group therapy is an ideal choice to address concerns, create positive habits and make concrete progress toward treatment goals. Groups convene according to shared experiences with some addressing substance use/abuse, while others form a safe space for healing from loss and living with grief. Many other issues such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and low self-esteem can be addressed in group therapy.

Serna Solutions offers many youth and adult groups Adult and adolescent DBT Skills groups, an adult DBT/IFS Skills group, grief support groups, a CRAFT and DBT group for parents, Family Empowerment Project groups, and a Kundalini Yoga Therapy Group. Grief Support Group

Grief is a process that can often feel isolating. By connecting with others who are grieving, you can find comfort and support. Our online support group is for anyone experiencing loss of any kind: death of a loved one or pet, pregnancy loss, life transition, and relationship or community dissolution. Group leaders will facilitate sharing experiences, practicing mindfulness, and learning coping skills.

DBT Skills Group

We now offer Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills Groups for adults and adolescents. DBT focuses on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

If you wish to manage difficult emotions, live more fully in the present moment, and successfully negotiate interpersonal relationships, these groups may be the right fit for you.

CRAFT for Parents

Concerned about your teen’s substance use? Feel like you’re always fighting, nagging, and threatening them about it? There is a better way! CRAFT is an evidence-based model designed specifically for family members concerned about their loved one’s use of substances. This weekly group, especially for parents of teens, will provide different strategies and skills for responding more effectively to your teen. Call (505) 230-4949 for more information.

Family Empowerment

When a loved one is struggling with addiction, everyone in the family is affected. Our Family Empowerment Groups are based on the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) model, an evidence-based program to help families who have a loved one challenged by alcohol and substance use. This method teaches practical and effective skills that keep families connected and safe while guiding their loved one into treatment.

Kundalini Yoga Therapy

People often participate in therapeutic processes to address barriers interfering with vibrant, authentic living. Although all yoga traditions can serve as a complementary practice to psychotherapy, Kundalini yoga is an ancient technology of awareness. Through asana, mantra, breath-work, and meditation, the subconscious is cleared so that you are able to discover the indestructible part of self, that is separate from the wound. We call this Sat Nam, your true identity. Each week we will focus on different teams like security, voice and speech, intuition, willpower, creativity, sexuality, authenticity, and compassion.
