Blake Gordon, LPCC, Santa Fe

I received a Master of Arts in Counseling from Southwestern College, Santa Fe and a Bachelor of Science Psychology, minor in Chemistry, pre-Medical focus from the University of New Mexico. I was awarded “Most Outstanding Thesis” from the Psychology Honors Department.

I did my clinical training as a Practicum Student Therapist, Southwestern Counseling Center, Santa Fe, NM and as a Counseling Intern, Las Cumbres Community Services, Santa Fe and Espanola, NM. I am an independently licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in New Mexico.

For eight years, I worked as a Psychotherapist for Zephyrus of Santa Fe. There I focused on the treatment of eating disorders, and other mood disorders. I provided individual, family and group therapy in an outpatient setting for adults and adolescents.

I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for regulating emotions and tolerating distress with mindful awareness, reality testing and acceptance.

My therapy focuses on creating positive impact in people’s lives through a combination of CBT, DBT and Mindfulness to create change where change can happen and acceptance where it cannot.

I create a confidential and safe learning environment to provide the life skills to help clients feel more self-sufficient in solving life’s problems.

A note to clients:

I am a firm believer that DBT work “works” because I have done it myself. I will not ask you to do something that have not done myself. Together we will explore your strengths and capitalize on them and learn new skills to help you solve life’s problems. I am here to guide you to become the creator of your life. To help you build a life worth living. Through building confidence that you can handle whatever life throws at you. I am committed to creating a truly unique and safe experience through open communication, honesty and reflection.
