Zoey Barnes, LMSW, earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver. She also holds an MFA degree in nonfiction creative writing from the University of Montana. Born and raised in Santa Fe, she has worked with individuals, families, and groups from all backgrounds. She enjoys working with people in times of transition, including during pregnancy and postpartum, aging, chronic health conditions, career transitions, and grief and loss. She is trained in trauma-informed care, Perinatal Mood Disorders, and Expressive Art Therapy and her approach incorporates Narrative Therapy, Gestalt therapy, mindfulness-based modalities, and Internal Family Systems. She has experience working with the entire family system as well as exploring the impacts of generational and historical trauma. Zoey uses a client-centered, strengths-based, and empowerment-oriented approach. She is passionate about collaborating with the client to meet the client’s goals for transformative practice.
